How do I register?

Registering is a fairly simple process, on the right hand side you will find a box that says Welcome if you are not already a member click on Join (If you are a member type in your user name and password to log in.) You will be taken to the COPPA agreement page, decide if you are over 13 or not. Then
you can input your information, This is also the one time you will not be "charged" gold to add things like a special display name, avatar or signature to your profile. Click register, and you will be sent a verification e-mail to the address you provided.

How do I log in?

When you first come the site you will see a welcome box on the right hand side with a place to enter your User Name (not your display name) and password simply type those in and away you go.

How do I change my Display Name?


Click on The Gold Trading Post in the main menu on the right hand side. That will open up The Gold Shop scroll down to Gold Settings and click Visit User Settings, here you will find several options for changing your profile. Click the buy button to change your display name, you will be asked to confirm that you want to spend some of your hard earned gold doing this, then type in your desired user name and click the buy button. You will now be charged the appropriate amount to make the change and then you will see your chosen display name on the site.


How do I upload an avatar? aka How do I get a cool user pic?

Click on The Gold Trading Post in the main menu on the right hand side. That will open up The Gold Shop scroll down to Gold Settings and click Visit User Settings, here you will find several options for changing your profile. Click the buy button to set your avatar, you will asked to confirm that you do indeed want to spend your hard earned gold on this, then you will be taken to a page with several options.

• Link your image from a remote site

• Upload your image to this site.

• Choose site-stored avatar

Simply choose whichever option you desire (The most common being "Upload your image to this site.") then click the buy button and you are all set.

How do I change my Signature Line?

So you want to add some cool info about yourself to all your forum posts like your Wench/Rogue # or some quote well here is how:

Click the buy button to change your signature line, you will be asked to confirm that you want to spend some of your hard earned gold doing this, then type in your desired signature and click the buy button. You will now be charged the appropriate amount to make the change and then you will see your signature line in any post you of yours on the forums.

How do I give myself a cool custom title?

So you want a cool title like His Royal High Mucky Muck or some such thing well here is how you can do that:

Click the buy button to create your custom title, you will be asked to confirm that you want to spend some of your hard earned gold doing this, then type in your desired title and click the buy button. You will now be charged the appropriate amount to make the change and then you will see your chosen title below your display name in the forums.

I love this site, How can I refer someone here and get credit for it?

All you need to do is go to your profile and at the top you will see your referral id, just copy that and have them click that to sign up for the site.

The Gold System:

So you want to know what this gold system thing is all about? It is simply a reward system for participating in the community.
Here is a breakdown of how you earn gold:

• Starting gold: 1000

• A visit to the site site: 5 gold

• A new forum thread: 250 gold

• A reply to a thread: 75 gold

• A new high Arcade Score: 25 gold

• Comments in a news article: 25 gold

• Submitting News Items: 250 gold

• Submitting Links: 250 gold

• Referring a new member: 1000 gold

You are also rewarded for posts and replies above a certain length, so you can earn more by posting more than just "Huzzah" in terms of a reply.

Now obviously it can't be all rewards... There are in fact things that cost you gold, such as changing your profile settings and such. One major thing is that your gold can in fact tarnish (ie lose value) after 60 days if you have not visited the site your gold will begin to tarnish at the rate of 5 gold per day for 150 days. That equates to about 3/4 of a person's starting gold, a harsh penalty it would seem, but i have always been of the mind that a community needs participation in order to thrive.


Ok, so now I have all this gold what can I do with it?

What's up these orb things?

The orbs while initially part of the Gold System Role playing game have taken on a new life as a cool forum add-on. New orbs are being added so keep and eye out for them!
To buy an orb simply go to the orb shop located in the Gold Trading Post and click buy. After that scroll down to the orb you just bought and click wield. Any orbs you have purchased are not lost they simply need to be wielded again.

Everyone loves Presents!

To buy someone a present first type in their user name (it should auto fill with a few name choices after the first few letters.), then type in you message and scroll down to the present you want to send them and click "Buy Present" your chosen recipient is then sent a PM that you sent them a present.

We will be adding presents (as well as removing some others) if you have an idea for a present and want to do the work of finding an image and modifying it to work with the site we will gladly except it. Assuming it is not grossly inappropriate that is, or the image is a blatant copyright infringement of course.

But I used to be able to buy cool NERennies stuff with my gold, what happened?

That feature has been disabled at the moment, it will be returning as soon as we figure out the correct coding to do so.
